John O’Brien is the Chief Financial Officer of Pilot Growth Equity. John is a senior financial executive with over 20 years of financial and operational experience in technology and early stage companies. John is also currently a CFO Consultant focused on providing CFO services to established businesses, technology companies and early stage companies. Prior to being a CFO consultant, John was VP of Finance for FirstBest Systems Inc., a transformative insurance software company acquired by Guidewire Software (GWRE). At FirstBest, he built finance and administrative infrastructure and raised multiple rounds of capital.
Prior to joining FirstBest, John served as Controller at Cohesive Technologies, a manufacturer of equipment and consumables for Pharmaceutical, Diagnostic and Contract Research Companies. At Cohesive Technologies, he guided the company from a start-up to an established firm with annual sales of $15 million, which was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific (TSF).
John graduated from St Anselm College with a BA in Business.
